Accelerate your career with a nationally recognised qualification! MITO has developed a new qualification for the canvas industry - the National Certificate in Industrial Textile Fabrication (Level 3).
Industrial textiles are everywhere! From shade sails to retractable roof systems , this programme combines practical skills with plenty of challenges and exciting long-term opportunities.
The position will involve learning the skills to manufacture and install shade sails, boat canopies, vehicle upholstery, animal covers, tarpaulins, truck and trailer covers, outdoor furniture covers, tonneau covers, caravan awnings and much, much more.
Skills involved include fabric welding, industrial sewing and onsite installation work. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have good practical skills, an ability to read plans and follow instructions and to be a team player. Must be a New Zealand citizen or hold appropriate visas to legally work in New Zealand.

Duncan's Canvas has done it again - our multi-award winning company has won New Zealand's top commercial shade sail award. The clam-shell shaped structure at Patumahoe School is cantilevered over a deck giving maximum shade coverage for school events.
