It was a great opportunity to connect, share and discuss your child’s learning, progress and achievement, while also celebrating the individual strengths and successes of each of our learners. 🥰

There have been many developments and changes within Te Ao Mārama School since we first opened in 2019, and the Board feels it is timely to review our strategic direction.

End of week wrap up, and just one week to go!💙💚
Plenty of celebrations as we marked Te Wiki o te Reo Māori. 🗣

➡️A couple of important reminders before the weekend:

📋 Board Survey - if you haven’t already, please take a few minutes to complete our Board survey (sent via email earlier this week). Your feedback is really valuable in helping shape our priorities for the future. The first draw for Archie’s vouchers will be made this Sunday! 🎁

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Hui-ā-Whānau – we’re looking forward to seeing lots of parents/whānau at our end-of-term parent, teacher and student connections. If you haven’t booked a time yet, please do so (on Hero). We’d love the opportunity to meet with 100% of our families to talk about your child’s learning, achievement and progress.

🌿🚌 Tūī Tahi Day Camp 🛶🧗🏹

What a day at Lakewood Lodge! Lots of adventures, plenty of laughs, new challenges and some very tired tamariki by the end of it! 😄

Days like this are a great reminder that some of the best learning happens outside the classroom - working together, giving things a go, supporting each other and stepping outside our comfort zones.

🗣Te Wiki o te reo Māori 🇳🇿

👉Tomorrow marks the beginning of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), where we celebrate Te Reo Māori. However, in reality this is 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙙𝙖𝙮.

Right from our establishment as a new school we have played an active role in celebrating and promoting Te Reo Māori.

We are one of a very small number of mainstream schools that receive Māori language funding for each and every child. This funding is used to further bolster our programmes and resources.

In 2027 we will be establishing our 3rd Bilingual Māori medium class 🤗

As an incredibly diverse school (61 nationalities currently represented) this is something to be very proud of.
