Kia ora Whānau,

This morning, WEL Networks informed us of a scheduled power outage affecting Storey Avenue tomorrow (Wednesday, 16 September) from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Because water and sanitation will remain fully functional and warm weather is expected, the Ministry of Education has advised that the school should remain open. Classes will run as normally as possible.

Important details for tomorrow:
• Devices: Students should leave their personal devices at home. Without school power, there will be no Wi-Fi or network access.
• Contacting the School: Main office phones and the standard absence voicemail line will be offline. For urgent matters, please call or text 022 381 8008.
• If your child/ren are away tomorrow, can you please inform the school by 8.15am before the power outage so these can be recorded. Please text the above number for any later absences.
• There will be no Eftpos available!

BASKETBALL & SPORTS ASSEMBLY REMINDER

A reminder of our upcoming sports events:
Week 8
NO basketball games this week due to AIMS Games.

Week 9 – Friday 18 September
Y5/6 teams will play their final basketball game of the season.

Sports Assembly – 9:15am in the Hall
We will celebrate and acknowledge our students and teams for their participation, effort and achievements throughout the sporting season.

Week 10
Y1/2 and Y3/4 teams will have their final basketball games of the season.
Basketball – Term 4

Waikato Basketball will only be accepting current teams for Term 4.
If you would like your child to play basketball next term, please email Whaea Soonhi [email protected] to have your child placed on the waitlist.
If a spot becomes available, Whaea Soonhi will contact you via Seesaw. Please make sure you are connected to Seesaw so you don't miss any updates.

The weather has been truly kind to us this term for our events, with the Rippa Rugby Tournament going ahead as planned last Friday. Our Year 1 to 4 tamariki who joined in had been practising hard for weeks, and when game time came, they showed off their skills and had an absolute blast.

A big thank you to the amazing whānau who came along to support our kura, whether you were coaching, helping out, or cheering on the sidelines, the day would not have run so smoothly without you. Your time and energy were greatly appreciated.

It was fantastic to see such brilliant sportsmanship on display from both the players and the crowd!
