TB 🫶🏽 Kiribati Language Week has been a beautiful opportunity for our fānau (children) to connect with the stories, traditions, and knowledge that have shaped Kiribati communities for generations 💙🌴🌊

Through hands-on learning, Whaea Teramira has been sharing the importance of the coconut tree, the ocean, and the natural resources that sustained our ancestors. By exploring traditional tools, skills, and ways of life, our fānau are gaining a deeper appreciation of the resilience, wisdom, and ingenuity of the Kiribati people.

By passing on these stories and traditions, we are nurturing identity, belonging, and pride, helping ensure our Kiribati heritage continues to thrive in the hearts of the next generation. ✨

🥝Wednesday is lunchbox day! 🍎

Our fānau (children) are provided with morning tea, lunch, and an afternoon snack every day at K’aute Early Learning | ELC (Early Learning Centre).

However, on Wednesday, our pre-schoolers (Aged 3.5-5) have the opportunity to spend lunchtime accompanied by their own packed lunches!

This is a practice that our fānau really enjoy, and it also gets them prepared for school! 🏫

Learning through play 🌿✨

At our centre, our youngest ‘aiga (family) members are encouraged to learn, explore and thrive through hands-on, open-ended experiences. We believe that every moment of play is an opportunity for learning.

Our fānau (children) are naturally curious, and through engaging provocations and sensory-rich experiences, they investigate, discover and make sense of the world around them. As they play, they are developing confidence, creativity, communication skills, and a love for learning.

We create nurturing environments where children feel safe to explore at their own pace, fostering independence, wonder, and joyful learning everyday 🌈
