Breaking News from the “Learning Links Borman Headquarters”!
We’re excited to announce that a brand-new office has been set up right here in our Preschool room! The recruitment process was tough (lots of giggles, snack breaks, and crayon-written résumés), but we’ve hired some of the best in the business—tiny but mighty professionals with BIG ideas.
Our little employees are busy typing words exactly as they see them on their “screens,” learning new letters, building vocabulary, and occasionally sending very important pretend emails (mostly about cookies).
Stay tuned for updates on their latest project: “How do you feel today & My sound chart.”

Today, we celebrated Waitangi Day with our tamariki, honoring this important part of Aotearoa’s history. During mat time, we shared the story of the Treaty of Waitangi, helping the children understand its significance as the founding document of New Zealand, symbolizing partnership, respect, and unity between Māori and Pākehā.
To deepen their connection to this special day, we explored engaging activities where the tamariki had the opportunity to see a representation of the Treaty. They also enjoyed learning about Māori symbols, discovering their meanings, and expressing their creativity by coloring them.
Through these meaningful experiences, we’re fostering a sense of belonging, respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and an appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of Aotearoa.
Ngā mihi o te rā!

Learning Through Play: Exploring Numbers and Time! ⏰
At Learning Links Borman, our tamariki are having an exciting time learning numbers and exploring the clock through a fun and intentional teaching experience!
With eager hands and curious minds, they’re counting from 1 to 12, recognizing numbers, and even positioning the clock hands to create different times. We love hearing them proudly say, “I can make 3 o’clock!” or “Look, it’s 4 o’clock!”—all while laughing and learning together.
By combining play with learning, we’re helping our tamariki build a strong foundation in numeracy and time-telling skills in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.
Ka pai, little learners!

Introducing a simulated grocery store environment to our tamariki where they observe various items and can purchase them by either drawing its shape or writing its name on their personalized shopping list.

It also encourages early math and decision-making skills by helping them recognize and categorize everyday goods.
Furthermore, it fosters a sense of responsibility and real-world understanding of shopping 🛒, making it a meaningful way to prepare children for trips to the store with their parents

At Learning Links Borman, we provide a morning sign-in station where tamariki have the opportunity to trace their names. This experience helps them recognize the letters in their names and develop foundational literacy skills essential for writing.
Enhancing early literacy skills is a key component of school readiness. Developing these skills is crucial for fostering a strong connection between spoken language and written communication. Through this initiative, children learn to recognize and write their names, while parents supported us with greater appreciation for this enriching experience. This practice marks an incredible step in building the foundation for essential literacy skills.
