It is time again for our fabulous annual Friends of Hospital Chaplaincy fundraising concert which is set down for Sunday 13 July commencing at 3.30pm.
This concert is our main fundraising event for the year and the funds raised go directly to supporting the work and services of our Waikato Hospital Chaplaincy Team. We are delighted to again have the support of the Anglican Cathedral of St Peter who have made their beautiful Cathedral available for the Concert. The Concert will provide a delightful afternoon of music from the Hamilton Community Gospel Choir and friends who have put together a wonderful programme to support us and we are most grateful for work and efforts on our behalf.
We hope that you will be able to join us for this special event and that you can share this poster and invitation with your family, friends and church communities.

šæ What Does Amokapua Hohipera Aotearoa Mean? š
As part of our rebrand to Hospital Chaplaincy Aotearoa, weāre proud to share the meaning behind our MÄori name, Amokapua Hohipera Aotearoa, and the story of our new logo.
Amokapua: In te ao MÄori, the Amo are the supporting posts of a wharenui (meeting house), standing strong on either side of the entrance with outstretched arms. Kapua conveys a sense of embracing and encompassing. Together, Amokapua symbolises a chaplain as someone who stands with arms outstretched, ready to welcome and embrace all who seek comfort and care.
Our new logo reflects this idea with two outstretched arms, symbolising a warm invitation to everyone needing support, compassion, and spiritual careācentred around the cross, representing the spiritual heart of our work.
This meaningful imagery reminds us of the vital role chaplains play in bringing comfort, hope, and connection to patients, whÄnau, and staff in hospitals across Aotearoa.

A massive thank you to everyone who attended our fabulous concert last Friday - there was a wonderful turnout (a full house!) and beautiful music. Our heartfelt and sincerest appreciation to the St Peters Cathedral Choir and the Hamilton Community Gospel Choir who made it all possible. We were thrilled that over $3000 was raised to support the work of the Chaplains in Waikato Hospital. šā¤ā¤š
