Our pepi love exploring different textures and getting creative through messy play. Take a look at the colourful and imaginative mahi they have created. This sensory-rich activity provides a fun and engaging experience for our tamariki. Using frozen paint on blocks offers a hands-on sensory exploration, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and learning through play.

Last week, our tamariki in Manuka group, took part in a range of activities to celebrate World Environment Day. Through sensory-rich experiences, they explored different environments and learned about caring for nature in ways that were meaningful for their age and stage of development.
The babies enjoyed exploring a variety of natural materials and textures, using their senses to discover how things felt, looked, and smelled. Outdoor messy play provided opportunities for hands-on learning, curiosity, and exploration of the natural world around them.
The tamariki also created their own Earth-themed artworks, using different colours to make their unique creations. These experiences supported sensory development, creativity, and an early appreciation for our environment and the importance of looking after it.

We’ve got some very special people to celebrate here at Busy Bees Hamilton East 💛
A big, heartfelt congratulations to our amazing kaiako:
🌟 Vikashni, who graduated back in March
🌟 Stefanija & Shelly, who have just graduated last week
We’ve seen the hard work, the late nights, the dedication — all while still showing up every day for our tamariki with smiles, patience, and so much care.
We feel incredibly lucky to have such passionate, qualified kaiako in our centre. They bring knowledge, warmth, and a genuine love for learning that makes a real difference in our children’s lives every single day 🐝🌱
We sure are proud to call them part of our team!
