🇵🇭 Happy Philippine Independence Day! 🇵🇭 (Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas!) (celebrated on 12th of June).

Today at Sunshine Kidz Club, our tamariki celebrated Filipino culture and heritage through fun traditional games and delicious food.

These include:
🎉 Pabitin – a popular Filipino game where children jump to grab treats and prizes hanging from a bamboo frame ,🏃 Sack Race (Karera ng Sako) ,🥫 Tumbang Preso – a traditional Filipino game where players knock over a can using slippers and🍞 Pianono – a sweet Filipino bread roll enjoyed as a special treat.

The children had an amazing time learning about Filipino culture while building teamwork, confidence, and cultural appreciation.

We’re officially halfway through Term 2! 🙌
It’s been a busy few weeks with lots happening around the programme already. The term is flying by and we’re looking forward to everything still to come over the next few weeks ☀️

The kids have been keeping busy with plenty of outdoor play, time in the library, games with friends, and lots of different activities along the way. It’s been a good mix of fun, creativity, and keeping active before heading into the weekend 😊

The kids had so much fun getting creative and making their own tasty treats. There were lots of smiles, laughs, and proud moments as everyone showed off their creations. Safe to say there were lots of happy faces (and sticky fingers) by the end 😊
