Riverside jiu jitsu

Fantastic turn out for our women's open mat this sunday, so great to see the women of our community coming together for some scraps!

Solid outing for the Riverside Team this weekend, everyone picking up medals and 100% submission rate.

Its great to see a competitive team begin to form, and special shout out to harry who has been leading the charge in that space for a while. Could be time for a step up in competition 🤔

We also had Mal returning to competition, who is starting to see the oay off on refining his guiliotine and head arm chokes.

Jack looked very strong, always a tough roll in the gym, and incredibly hard to get a tap out of, he set the pace early with some good takedowns before hitting a clean RNC finish.

Lincoln is a new addition for us and was already one to watch, further solidified by his performance with two very technical leg lock finishes. We wont hold the guard pulling against him.

Overall, great day for Riverside and very excited to see something of a competitive team beginning to form.

Riversides members are a source of pride for me, 99% of the time the feedback i get is about just how welcoming they are, even before comments about skill and technical capacity.

But like all things, it requires constant, conscious effort on behalf of everyone in the community to maintain.

Thank you to everyone who upholds the standard at not only our club, but every club. You are why jiu jitsu is what it is.
