Friday helps us finish one week well AND prepares us for the next one.

Whānau challenge: Aim for all five! Encourage your child to finish their learning week strong — then celebrate making it through all five school days together.

Sometimes getting everyone out the door is harder than it looks.

A difficult morning? Lunch not made? Struggling with uniform or school gear? Something else getting in the way of getting to school?

Send them anyway. We’ll figure it out together. Plus you're most welcome to talk to us, there might be something we can do to help.

At Cobden School, we’d much rather have your tamariki here with us — learning, laughing, eating, belonging and finishing their week alongside their friends.
And yes, that includes Fridays too!

🌟 A fantastic effort with maths! 🌟

We love seeing our tamariki going above and beyond with their learning! This young mathematician has been challenging himself, practising his multiplication skills and proudly showing the incredible amount of maths he has been working through.

What a great example of persistence, determination and a love of learning. Ka mau te wehi!

Our attendance data is showing something interesting... we’re starting the week strong, but by Friday, attendance takes a noticeable dip.

Friday is a full learning day at Cobden School — and being here helps tamariki finish their learning, stay connected and head into Monday ready to go.

Before giving Friday a miss, have another think. If they’re well, let’s aim for all five! 🙌

💧The precautionary boil water notice for Greater Greymouth has now been lifted.

Flushing of the mains has been completed in Kaiata, and further checks of chlorine levels were carried out this morning, with results as expected.

In addition, a third clear test result was received yesterday afternoon. This means we have achieved three consecutive days of clear testing.

Based on the recent testing, treatment plant monitoring, flushing, and chlorine level monitoring, Council is satisfied that the precautionary boil water notice can now be lifted.

The sample containing E. coli was taken on Thursday as part of work being undertaken to connect the Kaiata water zone to Kaiata Park, and we have reason to believe it may have been a sampling error.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank people for their patience.

The notice was lifted at 12.30pm today.

It’s fantastic to see this young lady becoming a real spelling whiz! 🌟✏️

That proud smile says it all — hard mahi, growing confidence, and some awesome progress with her spelling. We love seeing our tamariki so proud of their learning and achievements.

A fantastic effort from our Cobden netball team at the Primary Schools Netball Tournament at Westland Recreation Centre, finishing 3rd overall.
Well done to all our players for representing Cobden with pride, teamwork and determination throughout the day. A great result! ❤️🖤
