Great explainer from the PPTA on the importance of non-contact time. All the world may be a stage, but it is really helpful to have time to prepare for the classroom stage to be able to perform at your best!

What’s not to love about Kids Voting?!

✔ It’s a free programme available to all schools and kura, for Years 0 to 13
✔ It’s a great way for ākonga to explore real-life election issues, parties and candidates, and learn about democracy

Tomorrow it will be one year since the government changed the pay equity legislation, in a shocking and hurried way, and disregarding our usual democratic processes. They also took the money allocated towards 33 pay equity claims, including a claim for teachers. They cancelled years of work, taking us off the track of reducing the gender pay gap. Watch tomorrow to see the CTU and Human Rights Commission statements. For details see the comments in the following:

Tomorrow will mark 1 year since the Government announced they were gutting pay equity and cancelling the existing claims of tens of thousands of workers.

The New Zealand Council of Trade Unions along with Pay Equity Coalition Aotearoa and the Human Rights Commission will be making a joint announcement at 10am tomorrow - watch at home with the Human Rights Commissions livestream. Link in the comments/on our story.
