We have a very special place run by parents and caregivers where you can play, learn and have fun alongside your children in a safe and caring environment. We offer a wonderful open-plan centre along with an extensive range of educational resources to challenge, excite and extend our children's minds and bodies. We are one of the only centres in Auckland that has support staff and doesn't require

studying to attend, there is no minimum days and we also have a cleaner so there is no long clean up at the end of every session. Come along and say hi, we'd love to show you around.

A mixed bag of fun and learning at Greenhithe Playcentre this week!

🐻🐻 We made pizza, baked delicious scones to share, built forts & had a teddy bear picnic.

🌱🌱 We explored the Hobsonville bush track, tried our hands at flax weaving and planted seeds while learning about Papatūānuku - our Earth Mother.

So many opportunities to explore and grow together.

🫟🫟 Messy play moments 🫟🫟

It’s Week 5 at Greenhithe Playcentre, which means we’re officially halfway through the term! While this week has been all about getting stuck into messy play, we thought we’d take a little trip down memory lane and share some of our favourite messy play moments from throughout the term so far.

From squishy, gooey and colourful creations to plenty of hands-on exploring, there’s been lots of learning, experimenting and, of course, mess!

Here’s to the first half of a fun-filled term and plenty more messy adventures to come!

A glimpse into the wonderful world of our little explorers this week.

🌊 🌊 A trip to Scott Point Beach to explore the shoreline. Searching for crabs, creatures and nature’s treasures along the way.

🌋 🌋 A day of volcanic themed adventures encouraged our tamariki to create their own eruptions - supporting early science concepts while watching the lava flow. The “floor is lava” obstacle course challenge encouraged navigating obstacles to develop coordination and confidence - all while having fun!

🍎🍎 Baking tasty apple pastries to enjoy together, creating handmade stick dolls, planting new seedlings for the garden, carving out rivers and mountains in the sandpit - endless opportunities to explore and learn through play.

Kia ōrana tatou kātoatoa! 🇨🇰

Just look at our gorgeous tamariki enjoying Cook Islands Language Week!

🌺🌺 Flower crowns, fresh fruit, herbs from the garden, and no shortage of island-themed sensory play.

🌴🌴 We’ve loved celebrating together and sharing the beauty of this culture with our tamariki.

A week of fun at Greenhithe Playcentre!

✈️✈️ Our tamariki enjoyed getting creative as they built and painted their very own wooden aeroplanes to take home.

⛺️⛺️ Homemade hot chocolate cookies with a side of marshmallows - our camping themed day in pyjamas brought lots of cosy fun!

🧪🧪 There was no shortage of hands-on learning this week either. From obstacle courses and a nature adventure through Wainoni Park to exciting science experiments to ignite little senses.

We love seeing curiosity come to life through play!

Kia ora e te whānau!!

What a wonderful first week back for Term 3 at Greenhithe Playcentre!

🍕🍕 This week, our tamariki enjoyed making their own pizzas, getting hands-on as they created their tasty masterpieces before sitting down together to enjoy what they had made.

🦖🦖 Our ‘Yes Day’ was another highlight, with the children taking the lead in their play. A request to use hammers quickly turned into a dino rescue mission, where our tamariki smashed frozen dinosaur eggs to rescue the baby dinos inside - there was plenty of excitement (and determination) along the way.

🌿🌿 We enjoyed a nature-focused day and made the most of our outdoor spaces and sandpit. We also explored a handmade cardboard sensory wall that sparked creativity, and lots of imaginative painting.

It’s been a fantastic start to the term, and we can’t wait to see what the coming weeks have in store.

Greenhithe playcentre has you covered👌🏽 Great indoor, outdoor spaces that can accomodate rain or shine. Decorate or don’t it’s totally up to you! The space comes with a variety of toys and equipment to keep the kids well entertained.

🐞 Building bug hotels, exploring the local skate park, zooming around on bikes both in-centre and out in the hapori 🚲✨

We created princess castles 👑, explored messy play with natural mediums 🍃🪵🌿, and got our hands dirty in the māra/garden 🌱

So much creativity, movement, and learning through play this week 💚

What a fun week at Greenhithe Playcentre 🌿✨

Our tamariki enjoyed a trip to the museum where they got to explore lots of weird and wonderful things -hands-on exhibits, sharks 🦈, fossils, and so much more. We also spent time in the māra 🧑🏾‍🌾👩🏽‍🌾🫜🪴and enjoyed plenty of messy play, sensory fun, creativity, and laughter together.

So many special moments of learning, exploring, and having fun together this week 💚
