A recent trip to Poland by SIT representatives provided networking opportunities with international colleagues and the strengthening ties with a Polish university

SIT Nurse Educator, Marie Meyer and Head of Faculty for New Media, Arts, Business, and Computing, Trades and Technology, and SIT Telford Campus, Hamish Small, spent five days (20 to 24 May) in Gdańsk, Poland to participate in the Powiślańska Academy of Applied Sciences International Week. The event brought together over 60 guests from more than 25 countries, supported by Erasmus+ group - the European Commission Union's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.

Mr Small and Ms Meyer spent the week mixing with academic staff from universities around the world to connect with colleagues across the business and health disciplines, build international partnerships, and strengthen relationships with Powiślańska Academy of Applied Sciences.

Interest in hands-on agricultural education is on the rise, with Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) specialist agricultural campus, SIT Telford Campus, reporting increased enquiries from recent successful events.

Telford’s annual Open Day drew strong attendance from across Southland, Otago and beyond, while the campus also recorded consistent engagement at this year’s Mystery Creek Field Days.

More than 160 prospective students and their families attended the Open Day in late May, gaining a first-hand look at life and study on the Clutha-based campus.

Re-O Week Day 3 was straight vibes. 🎮🖥️🐕‍🦺☕🌭

We had Your Corps gaming battles, Hato Hone St John Invercargill therapy dog cuddles, community stalls popping off, XO Church Invercargill coffees keeping us caffeinated, and a Student Services BBQ that hit different.

Great energy, good vibes. Semester 2 kicked off right.

Day two of Re-O Week brought the good vibes! 🏀🍟

Students enjoyed Community Market Day, free hot chips, games, live music, hot chocolates, and plenty of time to catch up with friends around campus.
