This week we have combined a love for making our own food with science! The children made their own bread buns, and while they were rising they learnt how to make butter by shaking cream in a jar. It's Playcentre Open Week, if you would like to join in the fun come and see what we are up to tomorrow 9am-12.30pm.

Applications are open for trustee positions on our Gore Kids Hub Charitable Trust!

We are committed to supporting the wellbeing and education of both adults and their children. While children learn, grow, and form friendships, we empower parents and caregivers alongside them. Our vision also fosters collaboration between local organisations, ensuring that families in the Gore District have access to the resources, connections, and support they need throughout their journey as a whānau.

Please email expressions of interest to our president Vicki Ramsay - our next meeting is 5th August 2026 if you would like to sit in and see what we do at a governance level.

🌟 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Hokonui Fashion Awards Catering 🌟

We're looking for a fantastic team of helpers to assist with catering for the Hokonui Fashion Awards. If you can spare some time, we'd love to have you on board!

🗓 Volunteer Shifts

Thursday 23rd July
🕙 10:00am – 12:30pm

Friday 24th July
🕙 10:00am – 12:30pm

Saturday 25th July
🕥 10:30am – 2:00pm

Saturday 25th July
🧹 2:00pm – 3:00pm (Clean-up crew)

⏰ Shift times are flexible and subject to volunteer availability, so if you can only help for part of a shift, please let us know.

🍴 Other Ways You Can Help

If you're unable to volunteer during the above times, we'd really appreciate help with any of the following:

🍰 Make slices (Brownie or Citrus Slice) – in place of mini muffins, we're now looking for sweet treats.
🍗 Cook and shred meat (Chicken or Lamb).
🥣 Cook a batch of meatballs.
🚚 Return bread crates to New World on Sunday 26 July.

Last Thursday we were lucky enough to have the lovely Southern REAP at playcentre. What a fun and exciting experience for our children to have. So hands on which we really enjoy. Thank you again 😊
