Theo, James, Layne and Robbie competed at the Otago/Southland Clash of the Colleges event at Telford today. They worked through 16 modules from forestry to fencing, first aid and gumboot throwing. We hope to send more teams to this event next year, it looks fun! Thanks to Malcolm for accompanying them.

This Wednesday Don Moore came to speak to our Young Farmers club about his journey in the dairy sector, the ups and downs , and why he decided to move to farming. He shared his knowledge about cows, share milking and owning a dairy farm business. He spoke about the day to day runnings of a farm owner and the challenges he had to overcome in setting up his business with his wife Jess. Big thanks to Don for coming along. Feel free to come and give Young Farmers a go - we will meet again on Wednesday 14 August in B2.

The October school holidays are looking good with our Meat Your Career camps! Thanks to Beef + Lamb New Zealand, these FREE camps are a fun, hands-on couple of days learning about the red meat sector 🐮🐑

Two Camps for Year 12 and 13 students:

South Island (Chch): 11-13 October

Districts are open to all NZ Young Farmers members (and free) and are a great way to test your skills, learn something new and join the Contest journey.

What an experience! Sadly no awards this time, but great learning and memories made. Looking forward to a couple of days exploring around the North. Well done to Jud, Theo, and Will - we are so proud of you! Thanks for FMG Young Farmer of the Year for an awesome competition!
