Dear everyone,

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the school will close on 30 January 2023.

My role as Commissioner will also end on 30 January 2023.

Solutions and Services Limited (who are the school’s accounting provider) have been appointed as the Residual Agent from 12 December 2022 and will manage the wrap up of all financial matters.

A Change Manager has yet to be appointed.

In the interim, Karen, assisted by Kate, has been doing all the tasks that this role entails to the extent permitted. I am extremely grateful to Karen and Kate for doing all this work. It will mean that there will be a very tidy handover to the Ministry on 30 January 2023.

Notices will also be put in the newspapers by the MOE’s agent in due course.

I will prepare an update for the community but wanted to inform you all first and thank you so much for your ongoing support.

I look forward to seeing you at the Celebration.

Hello, here is the latest Glenham Community Update

Glenham School – Community Update
Kia ora tatou,
Even though “our” students have all settled into their new school, there is still a lot of work going on at Glenham School.
The Acting Principal and Office Administrator have been very busy organising classroom resources and sorting through the archives to ensure we comply with the Public Records Act 2005 and with the assistance of our cleaner, have been tidying and cleaning the school as well as setting and emptying the mousetraps.
Some real treasures have been rediscovered and will be on display at the “Celebration of Glenham School” which will take place in December 2022. An organising committee is to be set up and anyone who is interested in being part of this is cordially invited to a planning meeting to be held at the school on Thursday 20 October 2022 at 7.30pm. The Acting Principal will chair the committee.
Spring has sprung and we are very grateful to those members of the school community who are helping with maintaining the grounds – lawn mowing, gardening and care of the tennis courts in particular. Thank you all very much.
A letter of support for the ongoing use of the tennis courts by the Glenham Tennis Club has been sent to the Ministry of Education. The Train Wreck event in January 2023 can be held on the school grounds.
We have yet to receive a decision in response to the request for voluntary closure as consultation with all the School Boards in the area is still underway. An update will be provided once a response is received from the Ministry of Education.
