Our programme reflects the values of the Early Childhood National Curriculum Te Whāriki, designed to encourage children to become independent learners; competent, confident and capable. Our programme is enriched through special events such as visitors to the session, a Father and Friends Night, a Fancy Dress Disco, a Bikeathon, Breakfast at Kindy, a Grandparents Week. Our ever changing learning en
vironment inspires curiosity, problem solving, creative expression, risk taking and motivates self directed discoveries. We are fortunate to have access to a large sport field adjacent to our Kindergarten where:
children can build huts
children have the opportunity to experience the fun of collaborative games
children have time to contemplate and explore nature
We are proud to be an Enviro-Kindergarten. Children have the opportunity to experience sustainable practices and thinking by:
growing and harvesting their own food to share with others from our gardens and community orchard. caring for our environment by water conservation, composting waste, paper and cardboard recycling
Excursions into the wider community build upon our children’s interests and passions; motivating and inspiring their learning opportunities. We value the wealth of knowledge that our families & whanau can offer to our Kindergarten and actively foster this partnership.
