Post 2 / 2:
The Tairawhiti Regional Finals of Smokefreerockquest were held at the War Memorial Theatre on Friday 12th June.

You’ve got Mail (Year 11), Eunoia (Year 12), Talking to Myself (Year 12), My Way (Year 13) and White Collar Missy (Year 13) took to the stage presenting two original songs each. With 12 bands in the final we were pleased to come away with several awards.

Best Song - “Midnight in Paris” by Karli Bartlett from Eunoia
Musicianship Award - Rosanna Hepburn-Van Zyl from White Collar Missy
Third Place in the Band Category - White Collar Missy
Second Place in the Band Category - You’ve Got Mail.

You’ve got Mail move onto the next stage which is making a video entry. Along with first and second place around the country, they go into the pool from which there will be 35 bands chosen to be considered for National Finals in Wellington in September.

Good luck to them, and to Copium from Tolaga Bay Area School who placed First in the Band Category.

Thanks to Tami Wilson for the photos

Hi everyone
Wondering if anyone can help us out. We have a number of senior students who don’t have instruments to practice on at home. In particular bass guitars. Does anyone have any lying around that they might possibly be able donate? Doesn’t matter about their condition - we can do them up and get them working again.
