KŌHINE ROBOTICS
This is week we held another Kōhine Robotics wānanga at with some of the kōhine from and Te Kura o Whāngārā. It’s always a great time of experimentation with kōhine constructing, modifying and testing robots; learning how to program robots; and sharing whakaaro on how robotic equipment is changing our world - the good and the bad! This wānanga we had the privilege of welcoming Tyla Kahuhiwa-Larby in to kōrero with the kōhine; Tyla is an MRI Technician at Mātai Research and her journey from Gisborne Girls High School to , with an internship at Matai along the way, shows our kōhine what a future in STEMM can look like. Ngā mihi nunui Tyla. Thanks also to and The Gattung Foundation, , and the Spark Foundation for supporting this kaupapa.

RAD WORKSHOP
We had an amazing workshop on Saturday to wrap up our events. Rangatahi learned how to refurbish laptops - taking them apart to identify the different components, running diagnostics, and installing drivers - this initiative addresses the digital divide by getting laptops into the hands of those who need them and also reduces eWaste. A massive thanks to Vitor and Sasha, the rangatahi trainers from RAD as well as Eva and Kris for their amazing support and coordination. Shout out to for amplifying opportunities like this one across the motu.
