🌸 Pink Shirt Day in the Tipu & Puāwai Ruma 🌸

Today we came together to celebrate Pink Shirt Day by dressing in pink and taking part in a range of fun pink-themed activities! The tamariki explored pink play dough, created beautiful pink artwork, and proudly showed their support for the kaupapa of kindness, inclusion, and standing up for others. 💗

Throughout the day we shared important messages with our tamariki about being kind friends, using gentle hands, caring words, and helping everyone feel safe and included in our learning environment.

Together we embraced the powerful message:
“Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora”
(Speak up, Stand together, Stop Bullying)

It was wonderful to see our tamariki learning about empathy, respect, and the importance of looking after one another in meaningful and age-appropriate ways. Ka pai everyone! 🌸

🌸💖 Mother’s Day in Kākano Rūma 💖🌸

Our pēpi have been busy creating something special for the amazing wāhine in their lives this Mother’s Day. 💛

With lots of love and creativity, our tamariki made beautiful cards and baked yummy cookies to take home for their māmā and whānau. 🍪👶✨

These special experiences help our pēpi to:
🌱 Express love and connection through creating
🌱 Explore creativity through art and baking
🌱 Develop fine motor skills while decorating and mixing
🌱 Experience the joy of giving to the people they love most

We know how special these little treasures will be when they make it home. 🥰

Our Tipu tamariki have been busy over the past couple of days getting ready for Mother’s Day 💐

The children created beautiful painted handprint flower pots for the special women in their lives and baked some delicious chocolate chip cookies to take home 🍪❤️

Through these experiences, our tamariki explored creativity, fine motor skills, turn-taking, and working together alongside their peers. They were so proud of their thoughtful gifts and excited to share them with their whānau.

🌿✨ Movement in Kākano Rūma ✨🌿

This week we’ve had a big focus on movement in Kākano Rūma, and it’s been amazing to see our pēpi growing in confidence and ability every day! 💛

From our littlest pēpi learning to crawl, roll, and take their first steps, to our older pēpi challenging themselves on the playground and exploring the world through movement — there has been so much determination, curiosity, and joy. 👶🚶‍♀️🌞

* Building strength, balance, and coordination
* Developing confidence as they try new movements
* Exploring their environment through active play
* Learning persistence and resilience when things feel tricky
