Joanna will share Masterton Primary School's (previous hui ā tau hosts!) journey in developing and embedding Te Ara Whakamana, including the school’s approach to data collection, resourcing, and professional learning to ensure consistent, low-variance, and effective implementation of the framework across all classrooms. First up - Addi Peters from Dyer Street School shares now they have incorporated Te Ara Whakamana into the Arts programme.

📣🤩We are so excited to have Susan and Nigel from AKO Solutionz join us for our next korero. Te Ara Whakamana: Mana Enhancement

Susan Ngawati-Osborne (Ngāti Te Ara, Ngāti Kopaki, Ngāti Hine) is Chief Executive Officer of Ako Solutionz. Susan has a strong background in social and Māori community work & has worked as a Community Trainer in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Kaupapa Māori practitioner in the Sexual Violence/Family Harm sector. She also serves as a Trustee for her Marae, remains active in whānau, hapū & iwi issues.

Nigel Marshall is NZ Pakeha originally from England, and Director at Ako Solutionz.
He has had a lifelong career in teaching Special Needs Children and as a Resource Teacher for Learning and Behaviour. He has great appreciation of the depth and strengths of Te Ao Māori and the importance of weaving this into approaches for wellbeing and positive behaviour change.

Susan and Nigel will join us to share about their journey in creating the Te Ara Whakamana framework and the impact it has had on schools, kaiako and ākonga.
