Project 5.06: Made in Aotearoa, NZ
Our students had the chance to work with the amazing Gretch Ivess in Week 1 of this project. Gretchen is a former EIT Fashion tutor, and was the first to kick off the Fashion Apparel course, here at EIT. Gretch is a very talented lady with heaps of knowledge to share. She recently returned home from a trip overseas with her sister Louis. They visited places such as Leipzig and Berlin Germany, Amersterdam, Vaals Netherlands, Nates France and many more fabulous places. Listening to Gretch share her stories and experiences is always a treat, as she gives you an overall view in detail, that makes you feel like you were there with her. 🥰😍
After our story telling Gretch shared with the students a technique she had the opportunity of learning from the designer himself, Shingo Sato. The Shingo Sato technique, is a “Transformational Reconstruction Technique” it is a combination of flat pattern making techniques and three-dimensional draping techniques.
Our students were blown away and absolutely enjoyed their day spent with Gretch. Thank you Gretch for all you do and all you continue to do!! From Ash & Lane, and the 2019 Fashion Dip Students
