Kia Ora Whanau,
A huge thank you to everyone for your support and for taking the time to attend the Turanganui Kapa Haka Festival. Our tamariki and kaiako had a wonderful time travelling by bus and performing on stage. It was amazing to see our tamariki stand proudly and perform with confidence and independence in front of the audience.
We are so proud of their efforts and achievements.
Here are some photos and videos from their beautiful performance.
Ngā mihi nui,
GHCEC Team

How to find the Matariki star cluster.
Check out Te Papa's video of Educator Hauiti Gardiner showing how to find the Matariki star cluster during the Māori New Year.
7 stargazing tips for frosty mornings
✨ Get out of the city, away from light pollution
✨ Check the weather forecast for cloud
✨ Find a spot with a clear view of the NE horizon
✨ Get up early! About an hour or two before sunrise
✨ Use a stargazing app - we like Star Walk, but there are loads of options!
✨ Turn off lights around you, but keep a torch handy
✨ Keep yourself toasty with warm layers, jumping jacks and hot drinks

E kore rātou e kaumātuatia
Pēnei i a tātou kua mahue nei
E kore hoki rātou e ngoikore
Ahakoa pehea i ngā āhuatanga o te wā
I te hekenga atu o te rā
Tae noa ki te aranga mai i te ata
Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou
Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them
We will remember them.
