Epic day on the rugby field! 🏉
Our boys' and girls' Rugby 7s teams took part in the Inter-School Tournament.
Girls' Team (B Grade)
From starting out as a group of girls who didn't even want to tackle each other, to becoming an absolute force on the field by the end of pool play, we could not be prouder of this team!
The girls left everything out there today. In pool play, they achieved:
3 Strong Wins
1 Close Loss
They then finished 4th overall!
Going into the finals, these girls stood up and put every single thing they’ve learned on display. They represented Central School with pure grit, sportsmanship, and amazing talent.
Huge congratulations, girls! You earned every bit of success today.
Boys' Team (A Grade)
Our boys turned up to play, but the competition this year was immense. Ending the round-robin with 3 wins and 2 losses, they qualified for the semifinal against Mangapapa, who had beaten them in pool play. However, our boys didn't let that hold them back; they played an absolutely amazing game, winning 6-3.
This put them into the final against Makauri, who had also beaten them in pool play. Again, the boys left that result in the past and were up for the rematch. In a tightly contested battle which went try for try, Makauri managed to get the winner late in the game, sealing a 3-2 victory. Congratulations Makauri, that was an epic final!
As usual, we are super proud of all of our students who participated today. The quality of play you demonstrated throughout the day was awesome to witness. But above all else, our school values were on full display all day long and you can be very proud of your efforts.
Finally, congratulations to Elle and Rico who were our players of the tournament for each team. 👏

We want to let our school families know that we have been made aware of a potential case of Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease within our wider community. There is no cause for alarm, but we want to share a few quick reminders to help keep all of our students healthy and well.
Signs to Look Out For:
Mild fever or a sore throat.
Small, painful mouth sores on the tongue or inside the cheeks.
A flat red rash or tiny blisters on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, or sometimes the diaper area.
Next Steps:
Monitor: Please keep a close eye on your children for any of the signs mentioned above.
Stay Home & Rest: If your child develops symptoms, please keep them home from school until they are fully recovered and any blisters have completely dried.
Hand Hygiene: We are reinforcing extra handwashing at school and appreciate your help doing the same at home!
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school environment safe and healthy for everyone.
