Teaching Opportunity
Our rangatira and pou, Kereama Rakuraku is leaving our centre to take up a role at Lytton High School's building academy. We are going to miss him dearly and he is a huge loss to our students and school community.
We are looking for someone to replace our brother. A full time, permanent position will be advertised on the Education Gazette website very soon. We would like to have someone that has a trades or a building background but it's not a must. We are open to modifying our programme to fit the skills and interests of our new kaiako.
If you know someone that might be interested in working with rangatahi that needs extra support, then please email Naima, [email protected]. You might know of a teacher that wants to move to Gisborne, please let them know about this opportunity. We would love for them to apply, even if they are new graduates. The position starts in Term 2.
Thank you for your time.
Ngā mihi,
Naima Ulu

On Friday, we said farewell to one of our tauira, Maranga. He will be transitioning back to his mainstream school Te Karaka Area School. Maranga travelled from Matawai daily to attend the Centre. He got along well with his peers, participated well and he was respectful to everyone here. We wish Maranga the absolute best for the remainder of his school years. Kia kaha, Maranga!
