To the brain, reading computer code is not the same as reading language 17/12/2020

A fascinating read just popped up in my neuroscience group, for those with dyslexics into computer coding.....

To the brain, reading computer code is not the same as reading language MIT neuroscientists have found reading computer code does not rely on the regions of the brain involved in language processing. Instead, it activates the โ€œmultiple demand network,โ€ which is also recruited for complex cognitive tasks such as solving math problems or crossword puzzles.

An amazing morning with amazing children...and their wonderful parents! Thank you all for coming, this may need to become a regular! I was absolutely amazed at what this group achieved this morning, made new friends, created some brilliant art, obstacle course, science AND developed their own real life game of Among Us..."video game which is better than fortnite!" Or so I am told ๐Ÿ˜„. Even the parents had alot to talk about, and I personally found having other parents who have gone through the same struggles of raising a child with dyslexia really refreshing and interesting. All in the same boat, however, we all now have our paddles. ๐Ÿ˜˜Also I would like to acknowledge Lachie! And his brilliant mum for helping to put this whole thing together, you two are so full of ideas and passion! I hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did x
