And that's a wrap on our Tūranganui a Kiwa workshop! Our rangatahi smashed it even with the curve ball of changing to Red Light. They are trained and ready with safe filming tikanga for future jobs at Red.

Our final tutor for our Tolaga Bay workshop is Richard Te Are! Richard is an actor, director and theatre maker from Ngāti Kahungunu and Tūhoe. Richard graduated Toi Whakaari and has gone on to star in New Zealand films "In Dark Places" and "Whina" and international TV shows "The Deadlands" and "The Luminaries".

Our next tutor is Te Huamanuka Luiten-Apirana!

Actor/ writer/ producer, Te Huamanuka Luiten-Apirana went to school at Ngata College and Gisborne Girls High School. Manuka went on to study acting at South Seas Film School and The Actor’s Program in Auckland. Since graduating, Manuka has written
award-winning play “Lip sync, Kanikani, Twerk off", acted in Three’s hit drama “Head High” and recently received Creative New Zealand’s Māori Emerging Artist Ngā Manu Pīrere award 2021.

Meet our first tutor Te Ao o Hinepehinga Rauna!

Te Ao o Hinepehinga Rauna grew up in Uawa, before moving to Christchurch to study at NASDA. Te Ao has spent many years acting and dancing around the world, staring as a lead in Three’s “Head High”, “Shortland Street” and has just returned from filming an international production in Mexico.
