Tangaroa Syndicate Activities

The Tangaroa Syndicate has been busy over the past few weeks developing new sporting skills. We have been fortunate to have members of Denfield Golf Course visit and introduce our Year 4, 5 and 6 students to the game of golf. A big thank you to Chris and his team for sharing their time, knowledge and enthusiasm with our students.

We have also started a four-week basketball skills programme with Jacob from SC Basketball. This is a fantastic opportunity for our many keen basketball players to develop their skills and prepare for the Timaru competition, which begins in September.

🔥🚒 Firewise Learning at Geraldine Fire Station! 🚒🔥

What an exciting day for our Junior Syndicate tamariki! Today we visited our local Geraldine Fire Station as part of our Firewise learning.

The tamariki had a fantastic time learning about fire safety and getting up close to the fire truck. They explored the different equipment, checked out the firefighters’ safety gear and clothing, and learnt some very important information from our local volunteer firefighters. 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, curious and excited about their learning outside the classroom. A huge thank you to our local Geraldine Fire Brigade volunteers for giving up their time to teach and inspire our tamariki! ❤️

Daffodil Day - This Thursday, 27th August, we will be celebrating Daffodil Day. Students are encouraged to wear yellow and bring a gold coin to support our local Cancer Society. This is a day early due to the Senior Syndicate Ski/Skate trip on Friday.
If you wish to make an online donation, you can do so using the following link or the QR code (just remember to change the area to South Canterbury). All money raised goes to our local Cancer Society.
