A small team who continue to step up, challenge themselves and thrive, even while battling through sickness. The determination, resilience and commitment shown by this group has been outstanding!

Kia ora Year 13 Students and Whānau,

If you are planning on further study in 2027, now is the time to start looking at scholarships! Most of these are open now.

Scholarships can help cover tuition fees, course costs, accommodation, living expenses, and other study-related costs. Many scholarships also recognise academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, sporting success, cultural contribution, or financial need.

Here are some of the main New Zealand scholarship opportunities to explore:

1. Study With New Zealand Scholarship Finder - https://www.studywithnewzealand.govt.nz/en/study-options/scholarships
This is New Zealand's national scholarship database and is one of the best places to start your search. It includes scholarships from universities, polytechnics, and private training providers across the country and allows you to search by course, level of study, and subject area.

2. University/Tertiary Scholarship Databases
Every university and tertiary provider (UCOL, Whitirea ect.) has its own scholarship portal with a wide range of opportunities for school leavers. Be sure to check the university or tertiary provider you are applying to, as many scholarships have application deadlines before the end of the year. (I have attached a flyer from Massey, Palmerston North).

Where should you start?
- Check the scholarship page for the university or tertiary provider you are interested in.
- Search the national Study With New Zealand Scholarship Finder.
- Look for scholarships that match your intended area of study, interests, culture, sporting achievements, leadership, or community involvement.
- If you are Māori or Pacific, make sure you also explore scholarships specifically designed to support your educational journey.

We encourage every Year 13 student to apply for as many scholarships as they are eligible for, you might be surprised at what is available.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Open Evening last night. It was wonderful to welcome so many prospective students, whānau, and members of our community through the gates of Manawatū College.

We hope you enjoyed exploring our school, meeting our amazing staff and students, and learning about the wide range of opportunities we have to offer!

A special thank you to our student leaders, performers, guides, and staff who gave up their time to help make the evening such a success.
