Hey everyone ☺️ can’t believe its been a year since we closed 😳 what a year!!! We ended up buying 2.5 acres in a suburb of Mackay - Freshwater Point, currently living in a shed on it - but its a livable shed (shouse). We have a track through our bush to a sweet spot on the beach … frequented by 🐢, and on the whale migration path … still pinch myself on how lucky we were to get this place! We have been lucky enough to witness turtle hatchlings making the dash for the water as well. Kayaking around our bay is amazing with turtles sleeping on the marshes or swimming around with us (Im a bit obsessed 🤩 )
I have settled into a full time office job again, also relief Pool Manager for Glenden Aquatic Centre which my brother manages. Gotta say it is strange having adults to talk to all day, and was def a struggle for the brain to switch back to full time office work 🤣🤯😳 (Bluey merch is crazy over here - swimming Bluey even!! Oh the fun we could of had with that!!)
Chris has settled into his job driving a truck around the mines, collecting oil, 7 days on, 7 days off.
Emma is in WA shearing. She has been across to see us twice now which we are very grateful for 🥰
Jess had her knee surgery, went to WA with Emma for a few months but as at Christmas is with us. Jess has a job working for Priceline selling cosmetics, skin care etc which hopefully she starts soon. As well completing an online course with Australian Beauty School Jess manages to keep herself occupied.
We moved for the weather/lifestyle and so far it has delivered. Gotta say Im very pleased to be working full time in air con for our first summer because holy smoke it is 🌞 🌞 … and if its not sun hot - the humidity is 🥵 🥵
And oh my days when it decides to rain .. it doesn’t muck about 🤣 but very much welcomed to break the humidity … and then the cycle starts again 🌞 🥵 ⛈️ 🌞 🥵 ⛈️ 🌞 🥵 ⛈️ 🌞 🥵 ⛈️
We put a pool in which is used multiple times a day when anyone is home - not fancy - its a cut down water tank (kiwi styles) 🤣 does the trick tho! We still get a thrill waking up to roos on our lawn, bandicoots, and the occasional lace monitor. The blue kookaburra are beautiful - plenty of wildlife on our property 🐍 🕷️ 🐸 🦘
