Faith in Action: Young Vinnies during Social Action Day

Our faith comes alive when we put love into action! This afternoon, some of our incredible Young Vinnies team set out to turn our St Joseph’s School community’s generosity into support for those in need.
Armed with a $160 budget—proudly raised by our school community through our Friday lunchtime Iceblock and Milo sales—Vaosa, Millie, and William put on their thinking caps. Practicing true stewardship, they carefully deliberated on which essential items would bring the most comfort and relief to local families.

Once the shopping was done, the team headed over to Manchester House to deliver the donations. The team there received the goods with immense gratitude and kindly gave our students a tour of their pantry, showing them exactly how these gifts will impact lives in our neighborhood.
By serving with joyful hearts, these students are beautiful examples of the Catholic social teaching of solidarity—reminding us that we are all responsible for one another.
A massive thank you to everyone who supports our Friday sales, and a huge well done to our Young Vinnies for being the hands and feet of Jesus in our community! 🙏✨

Matuku had the privilege of having some special visitors come to Almadale reserve with us on Friday. Our class enjoyed taking Father Trung and Father Zung for a walk in the bush to check out the pest traps. We were delighted to introduce them to s'mores for the first time! They also watched us enjoying the outdoors and crafting things from natural materials.

Reading the Word of God is a beautiful ministry, and both of our participants did an outstanding job bringing the scriptures to life. We are so proud of the hard work, practice, and heart you both put into preparing for your reading.
