We said a heartfelt goodbye to Safia on Friday. Safia has been an amazing teacher aide and fitted into our St Joseph’s School Whānau so easily. Thank you for all your support, care and help with our tamariki. You will definitely be missed! We wish you all the best for your travels and your next adventure. ✈️

After saying goodbye to Safia, we had our assembly to celebrate all the hard mahi our tamariki have been putting into their learning. It was lovely to celebrate their efforts and achievements.

MacKillop have been exploring shape in maths!

We’ve been naming shapes, counting sides and corners, finding shapes around our classroom, and creating animals and robots from shapes.

It’s been great seeing the children spot shapes in the world around them and realise just how much maths is all around us!

Today we celebrated Daffodil Day by wearing m***i and getting creative with some fun daffodil-themed crafts! 💛🌼

At lunchtime, we walked into the centre of town to enjoy some delicious sausage sizzles kindly put on by the wonderful volunteers from the Cancer Society. 🌭

It was a lovely way to come together as a school community and support such an important cause. 💛

Hillary have been busy learning a wonderful new skill - knitting! 🧶✨

We have been very lucky to have Nora come in and teach our Hillary tamariki how to knit. With lots of patience, determination and perseverance, our tamariki have been picking up this new skill and have thoroughly enjoyed the learning process.

A huge thank you to Nora and Mrs Haar for sharing your time, skills and patience with us!💛

MACKENZIE SKI RACE CANCELLED

In consultation with the Ski School Manager at Roundhill, it has been decided that we will cancel the 2026 Mackenzie Ski Race, with conditions not conducive to racing.

We have made this decision based on travel for schools, and poor racing conditions, based on today.

Apologies for any inconvenience, but we have made the decision based on what we have discussed this afternoon.
