This morning the College hosted our three local primary schools to a musical variety performance. Our annual Showcase gives our students an opportunity to play to an audience, with many who played today doing so for the first time. It also gives those that might be coming to the College in the future a taste of what musical instruments are available to learn.

Anna joined the tutors for an opening ensemble number; 'Spring' by Vivaldi which was fitting for the first day of the new season. We then heard from our brass tutor, Anna was joined by Willow to demonstrate the violin, and our woodwind tutor also played for us.
Next we were treated to Ava and Natalie playing a duet on the piano, before Emily sung us a beautiful song. We had Olivia, Michaela and Elijah up on stage next to play us some guitar. Owen represented the bagpipes wonderfully with his playing and Isla also sung superbly for us.

To finish we had 'Eternal' (Jax, Masin and Ollie) play their first ever live performance as a band up on the stage.

It was a true celebration of different musical instruments and styles. Thanks to all our performers for being brave, resilient and creative - standing up and doing your absolute best today.

Our House Leaders have chosen the themes for Spirit Week, and we’re looking forward to a fun and exciting way to finish off Term 3!

Remember, costumes don’t need to be bought. Get creative with what you already have at home, borrow from friends or family, mix and match, or make something yourself. Some of the best costumes can be created without spending a cent!

Most importantly, everyone is encouraged to get involved! You don’t have to go all out - even a simple outfit or small touch that fits the theme can help bring the school to life and add to the Spirit Week fun.

All proceeds raised throughout Spirit Week will go towards supporting the rescue and recovery efforts in Nepal.

After yesterday’s win, our SISS Tournament Hockey team followed it up with a post-game icy swim before taking on Kaikōura High School at 9:00am this morning, playing out a hard-fought 0–0 draw.

The team now awaits their second game of the day at 4:45pm against Taieri College.

The netball girls have two games today, first up at 10.00am against Cromwell College, followed by a 1.00pm game against Roncalli College.
