📞 Our school phone appears to have decided it needed an early holiday!

Apologies to anyone who has tried to contact us on our landline this week. We are currently experiencing some technical issues and, despite our best efforts, they haven't been resolved just yet.

In the meantime, please call or text 021 295 2506, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we convince our phone system to rejoin the 21st century!

Kia ora everyone,

We're hoping our school's portable scaffold might ring a bell with someone!

It was purchased around 4–5 years ago, and despite a thorough search, all we've managed to find is the brochure pictured below. We're guessing it may have been borrowed at some stage and never made its way home.

We have a few maintenance jobs piling up, so if you've seen it, borrowed it, or know where it might be, we'd love to hear from you.

Please contact the school office if you can help.

Many thanks from the Waikouaiti School team!

Pip Eason, a former student from Waikouaiti, and her friend are running Touch sessions during the school holidays at the Waikouaiti Sports Park. This is a fantastic opportunity for children aged 6 to 13 to develop their touch skills. A great opportunity in our local area!

Kia ora,
The staff and students of Waikouaiti School warmly invite our school and wider community to join us for the unveiling of our new school mural, created by local artist Nic Dempster.

Thursday 4 June – 2:45pm
This special artwork celebrates our local environment and tells the story of the Waipaku Stream as it flows through our community.

The mural represents much more than art. It reflects the learning, partnerships, and action our students have been part of through their work alongside the; East Otago Catchment Group, Enviroschools, our local rūnaka, Jill and Jeff Brockett’s upper catchment study, and Jenny Rowley’s ongoing planting work at the lagoon.

Prior to the unveiling, all are welcome to join our senior classes for a walk to the lagoon, where students will continue caring for our tree planting project leaving school at 1.30pm.

We would love to see whānau and community members there as we celebrate this special milestone together and join us for tea, coffee and snacks after.
