It is with great sadness that we write to advise that our mentor, friend and supervisor Dr. Elspeth Gold passed away on Friday evening. Elspeth was a tremendous mentor and she tried to give her best as supervisor every single day for all her students. She was a happy person, always optimistic, stubborn and with a strong personality.Despite conscious of her terminal illness, she was so upbeat, positive and pleased that she lived a good life where she accomplished what she aimed to. Elspeth wanted for her students to become great scientists and to carry on the mentoring 'pay it forward'. Thanks for everything Elspeth, you will live in us all.

We are very sad to be saying goodbye to Francesco very soon. Francesco has successfully completed his PhD oral examination and submitted the final copy of his thesis. Francesco will be departing to undertake his Post-Doc at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in the US with Dr. Nima Sharifi. Over the past 3 years he has been a remarkable asset to the group and we wish him all the very best for his future. Congratulations Francesco!
