We’re in a time where everything is designed for as little human interaction as possible. Problem is we’re still human and connection is not just a preference, it’s a fundamental biological and psychological requirement for our wellbeing and survival.

Fairfield Group Fitness has been bucking the trend, of contactless interventions, since 2018 by providing real exercises, in real spaces, with a real group of participants achieving real personal rewards alongside real quirky mistakes (because thankfully we’re not robots)! 😉 🥇

The physical and mental benefits obtained from group fitness classes are great but the rewards gained from coming together and connecting are greater!

Well, that was an interesting session where we took a trip back to the early days of Fairfield Group Fitness! 😉 🎤 And the cold morning made way to a fun, hot workout with a few quirky events along the way. Enjoy the weekend team. 🩷 🤩

💃 STEP

Cardio-based step training designed to elevate your heart rate and improve fitness through simple, rhythmic movement patterns. A fun, energising workout that builds coordination, stamina, and confidence using a Step.



💪 SCULPT

A gym-style interval class using weights and bodyweight to build muscle and support bone health. Work through timed intervals and AMRAP-style sets in a simple low-coordination format, with an emphasis on core, suitable for all levels.



🏋️‍♀️ PUMP

A full-body strength class using barbells and weight plates to build muscle and increase strength. Structured and choreographed, with high repetitions and targeted muscle work.



🧘‍♀️ BALANCE

A mind-body class focused on flexibility, core strength, and mobility. Improve posture, stability, and overall wellbeing through controlled movement and breath. A must for busy lives!



🔄 COMBO

A mix of cardio and strength training in one session. Expect a variety of formats and equipment for a balanced, full-body workout that keeps things fresh and engaging. The perfect way to start the weekend!

Mōrena team!

I’m looking at providing lunchtime group fitness classes for staff and postgrad students only on the Otago campus!

👟 There has been A LOT of interest so it would be great to get these sessions underway for semester two. I’m ready to go…all that’s needed is a venue.

📍 Can you help? Do you have, or know of, a space in the heart of campus that would be suitable and available? It must be located centrally on campus and not University owned.
