A massive thank you to the Columba Z Club for hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this morning. The dining room decorations were stunning, and the food was delicious. It was wonderful to see our staff getting into the spirit dressed in pink, alongside our students looking sharp in their school uniforms.
Best of all, all proceeds from the event are going directly to the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ to support the vital work they do. π

International camp update: our students are having an absolutely unforgettable time away. From thrills to breathtaking nature, theyβve been making memories from Queenstown to Te Anau and Milford Sound.
After an adrenaline-pumping zip ride and a fantastic visit to the Kiwi Park, they took a scenic drive and headed to Te Anau. Next up was the iconic Milford Sound. It was a classic Fiordland day - very wet and windy - but that just meant the waterfalls were roaring and absolutely spectacular. Today, they are exploring the magical glow worm caves before finally heading back to Dunedin.
Everyone is having a fantastic time, staying warm, and loving every minute of this South Island adventure.

π©πͺ Step into History with Year 13 German! π§±β³
Our senior German students are taking a captivating look back at life in the former East Germany. They are currently diving into the ARD animated documentary series, Auf Fritzis Spuren β Wie war das so in der DDR? (In Fritzi's Footsteps β What was life like in the GDR?).
The series follows the "footsteps" of the fictional Fritzi, a 12-year-old girl living in 1989, to investigate real-world history through powerful interviews with real contemporary witnesses.
Watching the first two episodes, our students are analysing:
- The stark realities of the Berlin Wall; and
- The controlling, pervasive influence of the Stasi.
Alongside this rich history, our seniors are mastering the complexities of the past passive voice - a grammatical form commonly used in historical contexts to report on past events objectively. Learning this advanced structure allows them to accurately describe how citizens were affected, monitored, and regulated by the state.
This unit provides an excellent foundation for both their historical understanding and high-level language proficiency.
