This week we held our second "Blokes' Lunch" - an opportunity for our male students to come together to connect and support each other.
Bachelor of Nursing student Keegan shared this image along with the following reflection:
"As a second-year student, it continues to be a really valuable experience being able to connect with the first-years, share advice, and help create a space where everyone feels comfortable and supported. The atmosphere was once again really positive, and it’s clear that events like these make a genuine difference. I really appreciate the ongoing support from the Department of Nursing and the Polytechnic in backing these kinds of initiatives. It means a lot to us students."

Our NZ Diploma in Enrolled Nursing and Bachelor of Nursing students held a teddy bear check up as part of the Teddy Bear Hospital. This is a free community event organised in collaboration with University of Otago health students. The event gives tamariki a chance to build their confidence by interacting with future health professionals.

Over the weekend, our Bachelor of Nursing and NZ Diploma in Enrolled Nursing students had a fantastic time taking part in the Teddy Bear Hospital at Carisbrook School. The students reported they loved organising and running the nursing station, helping tamariki care for their teddy bears while learning about health in a fun and engaging way. The children really enjoyed the event, and it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with both the community and other health professionals. We’re grateful to the organisers for putting together such a well-run and rewarding day. Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a success 💜
