Our Year One student midwives, particularly in Dunedin and the Hutt Valley, are looking for families to follow their childbearing experience.
If you or someone you know is pregnant, due before November, and would like to have a first year student, please contact us. Please share this post to your networks as well. ❤️
What's in it for you?
* You will have extra support and companionship during your pregnancy and childbirth experience.
* The first-year students are keen to learn how you and your whānau experience pregnancy.
* You are in charge and can decide what you want to share with the student, and our students will be supervised by a lecturer/kaiako at the School of Midwifery.
* Help future generations of midwives to follow through with you and your whānau in a supportive role during pregnancy, childbirth and the early weeks at home with your baby.

✨🌺💗

Ni sa bula vinaka

My name is Charlotte. I was born and raised in Pōneke and am of pākeha/Fijian descent. I am also proud mum to my boy Opie.

As a new graduate midwife I am stoked to be a part of Kia Tinā midwives and working out in our community supporting vuvale, whānau and aiga.

My midwifery values are built around safe and respectful care in all aspects (culturally, emotionally and physically) to achieve positive outcomes! I also prioritise care for our Pacific and Māori community with an aim to improve health outcomes and experiences.

When I’m not doing midwife things I’m hanging out with family and friends, on a bush walk or playing softball/netball.

🎉 Celebrating 45 Years of The Code! 🎉

Today, May 21st, marks the 45th anniversary of the landmark International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes, adopted in 1981!

This vital Code has been instrumental in protecting infant health worldwide by curbing aggressive formula marketing and championing breastfeeding. Its impact over nearly half a century is undeniable!

Join us in honoring this critical milestone and advocating for continued adherence to protect families and babies.
