Hollie Jones- 3rd for individual u19 Div 3 then 1st for u19 NZCAF fitness team (Unleashed) and 1st in u19 Div 2 duo with Bella 🥇

Bella Evans- Bella and Hollie under 19 Div 2 duo - 1st place and NZCAF under 19 fitness team (Unleashed) - 1st place 🥇

Leila Wall- Individual under 19 div 2 heats, under 19 Div 1 duo (with Amelia) - 2nd place, 🥈

Unleashed (with Bella, Leila, Hollie and Zinara)- Were also awarded the Aston trophy for Artistic Excellence 🏆

Matilda Compton- Individual div one under 16 2nd and FISAF adult grande second (selected for worlds) 🥈

Sam Williamson - 1st in the under 18 Div 1 category and FISAF Fitness Junior Grande 1st place ( attending worlds). 🥇

Holly Watkins- 4th in heats for the FISAF Junior Individual! (Worlds reserve)

Charlotte Watkins- Under 19 div 1 team - 1st place and FISAF fitness junior grande - 1st place ( attending worlds) 🥇

Amelia McKeever- 1st place U19 Div 2 for individual and in duo u19 Div 1 2nd place 🥇

Sophie Wagner, Sabi Taylor, Molly Luxton- NZCAF Fitness team U19 (Royalty) 2nd place 🥈

Amelia Long and Brooke Hamilton - NZCAF novice intermediate division 5 duos - Heats

With so many top 3 placing, St Hilda's was also awarded the trophy for the top placed school across the competition 🏆
So proud of this group and it's exciting to see many of them being selected for Worlds coming up in the almighty Invercargill!!!!

What a night at the Hip Hop in Schools Nationals on Friday evening! We could not be prouder of our Hip Hop ākonga, who brought so much energy, passion, and heart to the stage. While the results were fantastic, seeing our SHCS team show up with so much kindness, motivation, positivity, and courage meant far more than any medals ever could.

🥈 ORIGIN Crew (RASA) (Chloe Uluakiola) – 2nd in Junior Small Crew division

👏 NRG (Gabrielle La Hood & Neve Crossan) – Performed amazingly against 8 other Secondary Mini Crews in one of the absolute toughest divisions at the competition!

A massive thank you to our phenomenal coaches- Neve Crossan, Lila Howley, and Danielle Veenvliet from Zone One Dance Studio - for all of their incredible mahi.

We all need a bit of a laugh!

On Thursday, 29th October we will be treated to an evening of connection and full belly laughs, to raise funds for the final stages of our Science Lab development – which is nearing completion.

Award-winning comedian, Harriet Moir will MC the night, bringing to us local comedy acts Nicola Brown, Kelly Hocking and Reuben Crisp who are sure to split our sides!

As part of our fundraising there will be a live auction and raffles to purchase on the night.

A cash bar will be running throughout the evening, serving a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Tickets are $50, which includes food and exceptional entertainment.

A huge congratulations to our Head Girl, Sophie Beardmore, and Deputy Head Girl, Millie Meder, who teamed up to run the Dunedin Half Marathon last Sunday.

They weren't the only ones out there crushing goals - a massive shoutout to Year 12 student Freya Whiteside, who also conquered the Half Marathon, and to our incredible staff members Mrs Grant, Mr Harris, and Mr Angus, who took on the grueling Full Marathon. If you know of anyone else in our St Hilda's community who participated, feel free to mention them in the comments!

It was a blustery day out there with a tough headwind for parts of the race, making it a real challenge for everyone on the course. Despite the trying conditions, these amazing students and teachers pushed through to the finish line, perfectly exhibiting our school value: Can Do - Ka taea e au.

Thank you to Sophie, Millie, Freya, and our staff for inspiring us and showing what true determination looks like.

Next Sunday 20th September, our Senior A netball team will be holding a skills session for Year 5-8. The team are heading to Auckland on October 5th for the NZSS national competition and this is a fundraising event to assist the team with their costs.

Term 3 has been an extremely busy term in Textiles for the senior students. We started the term with the Hokonui Fashion Awards in Gore. Sinead O’Neill entered her jumpsuit in the Androgynous school section, while Bella Donaldson, Madi Smith, and Ella Smith entered their collection in the Open Collection section. Their garments looked stunning on the catwalk, an amazing achievement.

Bella Donaldson entered a garment in the Wool On Fashion competition, producing this piece in her own time at home. She won the Under 18 student section with her garment titled ‘Inherited’.

More recently, four garments were entered in the Celebrate Design Awards at the Otago Polytechnic and were on display for a few days at the Design school. Sinead O’Neill received a Highly Commended certificate with prize money for her entry.

Congratulations to all our senior students for their hard work and success this term!

What a fantastic finish to another successful curling season!

Our St Hildas, and Dunstan combined girls competed in the finals of the Otago Invitational Secondary Schools Curling Competition, putting up a great fight against Māniatoto, narrowly missing out on the gold. They came away with a well deserved silver medal, making it a fantastic follow up to last year’s success when our combined John McGlashan, St Hildas team took home the gold medal.

A special congratulations to Jess Becker, who was awarded Best Draw Shot as well as the Spirit of Curling Award for the girls. The Spirit of Curling recognises the values at the heart of the sport. Sportsmanship, integrity, respect for opponents, and showing that the spirit of the game matters more than simply winning.

A huge congratulations to the whole team on another outstanding result and a fantastic season!
