We are off! A big first day of exams is complete, with Reading CAA, Year 12 Physics and Economics, and Year 13 Agriculture, Geography, and English.

The boys made a fantastic start, all well-prepared and ready to go.

Tomorrow kicks off with Writing CAA and other senior exams. Please double-check exam timetables and notify the Attendance Officer via email ([email protected]) if your son is absent due to illness.

Our Year 9 Drama students are exploring the joys of clowning and what a profound act of service it is.

To clown is to stand in front of an audience and say: “I will fall. I will fail. I will look utterly absurd — and I will do it for you.”

Every stumble, every flop, every gloriously ridiculous moment is a gift. It tells the audience: failure is human. Imperfection is human. To fail is human nature, and that is something to celebrate.

Ben will represent Otago at the tournament against other New Zealand provinces, held at Cambridge Golf Club at the start of the school holidays.

Outstanding orienteering results!

Congratulations to Henry Hodgson on an outstanding weekend at the South Island Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships in Christchurch! Competing in the Senior Boys division Henry placed 3rd in the Sprint and took out 1st place in the Forest event. An excellent effort and a fantastic result!

What a weekend for OBHS old boy Jake Owen (2019–2023)

Jake had an outstanding weekend, taking out the ASB George Street Mile on Saturday in an impressive 4:18. He backed that up on Sunday by winning the 10km run at the Dunedin Marathon, crossing the line in 32:14. Two wins in two days — what an amazing effort, Jake! Congratulations from all of us at OBHS.

🏆 Hillary GET2GO Champions! 🏆

Congratulations to our combined OBHS/OGHS mixed team, who took out all three challenges to finish 1st overall!

It was a fantastic day of teamwork, problem-solving, orienteering, regaining and mountain biking, with the team showing plenty of determination and spirit along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in running the activities and making it such an awesome event.
