Newborn Stomach Capacity

Day 1: 5–7 ml (0.1–0.2 oz) – about the size of a cherry
Day 3: 22–27 ml (0.8–1 oz) – about the size of a walnut
Week 1: 45–60 ml (1.5–2 oz) – about the size of an apricot
1 Month: 80–150 ml (2.5–5 oz) – about the size of a large egg
By one month, most lactating parents are producing close to the full amount of milk their baby will ever need.

Even as your baby grows, the total daily volume of milk stays about the same from one month onward. What does change is the feeding pattern—how often and how long your baby nurses may shift, but the overall intake remains steady.
