Mornington Playcentre is a warm, friendly, vibrant Playcentre that provides a nurturing environment and a quality, tailored programme of early childhood learning for your child. We have a supportive community of enthusiastic families. We have mixed-age sessions and welcome children from birth to 6 years. Our centre is a purpose built Playcentre and is spacious and open, with 2 large spaces for outdoor play. We are situated right next door to Mornington School and have a great relationship with the school, often joining in with their activities. This provides a great transition to school for the children.

Parāoa pokepoke!

This week is Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori and the parāoa pokepoke has been a great experience to practice our reo Māori. Naming ngā tae, kararehe, āhuahanga was a way to practice kupu we knew and learn new ones aswell. Tamariki were repeating the reo Māori and we were all learning together.

We have lots of budding doctors here at Mornington Playcentre so what a better way to support this interest than setting up a doctor's office.

Our tamariki are practicing language and communication, exploring imaginary play, and having fun while doing it!

Sensory swings are an amazing resource and can be used in many ways. Our tamariki enjoy hanging their arms through and running around, or going inside like a cocoon 🐛 🦋

A morning at playcentre 🌞

Our tamariki really enjoy watching the big school kids out the window - this was the perfect opportunity for language development and communication as we talked about soccer, school and the ball!

We also enjoyed jumping, painting, peekaboo, making tea and soup, and cars. Lots of fun to be had at playcentre!
