Year 11 students, Leo Douglas, Evelyn Cochrane, and Penny Blair competed in the South Island Nationals competition for Theaterfest. The group won: Outstanding Moment, Outstanding Contribution to Ensemble, Outstanding use of Technical Elements, and Excellence in Music! Penny Blair also won Excellence in Acting.
The competition was open to the public and the group were up against strong contenders from around the South Island. Well done :D

Our Rockstars, Heavy Sweepers and Burlers competed in the Otago Secondary Schools Curling Competition in the weekend. The teams finished up in 4th, 6th and 8th place, with some excellent curling from everyone involved! A big thank you to Mr Surline, Ms Darling and Miss Whelan for all of their help with the Curling crew! 🥌 ❄️

Te Wiki o te Reo Māori is fast approaching and we have some exciting news! Te Reo Towns Activation Fund awarded Bayfield students a grant to host a community event.
This is happening tomorrow - 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙮, 14 𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 in the Octagon! Stop by and kōrero with our students and you can get a free sausage! We will be in the Octagon from 11am-2pm. If you would like to support this event or you work near the Octagon please come along.

Congratulations to our Year 10 Science Quiz team of Lotu Bennett-Tuionetoa, Abigail Gillingham, Eri Oyelese and Feidhlim Fogarty . They put in a fantastic effort on Wednesday night against nine other Otago schools in a challenging quiz, testing them on everything they've learned in junior Science. They place fifth and we are so proud to have them representing us :D

Year 10 & 11 market day will take place tomorrow during lunchtime in the Pathways Centre for our students. There will be food, 3D printed products, activities and more on offer. These stalls will be CASH ONLY, so please bring along some money tomorrow.

Congratulations to Anika Franklyn (Year 13) who has been selected to represent New Zealand in the women’s Handball team!
The team will play Australia, Fiji, Cook Islands, Kiribati, New Caledonia and Tahiti in Wellington from the 10th of September in the Oceania Competition. We wish Anika and the whole team luck!
