Whaea Rach worked with Kahikatea today and they throughly enjoyed it.

Miro had an art lesson with Whaea Rach from the Dunedin Public Art Gallery this morning.

A huge congratulations to Toby on being our Hero of the Week.

Here is what Whaea Flo said about Toby:

- Speaks and shows the school values, especially Kaitiakitaka and Tama Tū Tama Ora.
- An early bird who manages their day extremely well.
- Loves learning and is very interested in space science and reptiles.
- Is an avid reader, writer and creator.
- An independent learner who could probably run Kaio on any given day.
- Trustworthy, witty and can come up with challenging questions for the game 'Life Rafts'
- I didn't want to share them and kept them for two years in Kaio!

This week, Rimu has been busy putting the pieces together—literally! 🧩😊

As they created their colourful mosaic self-portraits, they also explored what it means to be resilient. We had some fantastic conversations and writing about bouncing back, giving things another go, and believing in ourselves even when something feels tricky.

We’re so proud of the creativity, perseverance, and thoughtful reflections our tamariki have shown. Ka pai, Rimu! 💚✨
