Manuia Le Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa.
Happy Samoan Language Week 🇼🇸 🌺
We were so lucky to have Grettel, Louis and Olive from the Williams & Tili family come and share their knowledge with us about Samoa. We learned some fun facts, played some cool games and Mila-Rose and Olive performed a Siva Samoa (dance) for us. They also brought some panikeke (donut) for us and it was SO delicious!

The lovely Pip from Life Education and Harold the Giraffe visited us recently. Each class was able to attend 3 sessions of learning. Pihinga and Māhuri were learning about resilience and how to use your 'mind master' and not let your 'head hassler' take over. Puāwai had some excellent sessions on digital safety. We are very grateful for the time and effort that Pip takes to tailor the lessons to our students. And of course Harold is always a highlight! 🦒

We were very privileged to be visited by members of the NZ Bumblebee Conservation Trust and the Enviroschool team. They came to share with us all about the wonders of the bumblebee. We learnt so many interesting facts. At the end our tamariki were able to look at a live bumblebee hive. These are usually under the ground so very rare to see.
We are now official bumblebee ambassadors! We are hoping to plant a special flower garden to support our local bumblebees. 🐝

Today, Loveday (Sol & Avalon's mum) visited us from Ōtokia Creek and Marsh Trust. They are responsible for reforestation and education projects at the wetlands in Brighton. We were so lucky to get to prepare soil, plant seedlings, and learn about the life cycle of the Ribbon Wood plant! Happy school days 🌳
