This past Friday KVC's champion students (and staff!) fronted to a jam-packed hall and put on a show full of sheer fun, joy and talent of all descriptions! This year's edition of 'KVC's Got Talent' was a rousing success and a wonderful chance for KVC to showcase our students performing, supporting and encouraging each other so so well! On a blue sky DunnerStunner day there's no better place to be than KVC's beautiful campus and today has been no exception!

In amongst all of the lunchtime shenanigans, KVC legend and all round great sport Mr Scott has been getting bombarded with water balloons to help raise money for the PSO Food Bank. Such fun! πŸ’šβ€πŸŽˆπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘

This past week KVC's footy players had the pleasure of having actual KVC legend and former NZ age group football coach Neil Mackenzie along to practice! Neil ran our footballers through drills and skills and offered great advice to our students. Cheers Neil! βš½πŸ’šβ€πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

As we draw closer to the end of Term 2, the Media Team thought it was a good time to have a look back at the things we achieved in Term 1, and what else we can look forward to for the rest of this term.

Today, it was KVC's pleasure to host members of the NZ Police Force as they spent the day with our Year 12 students as part of their nationwide "Loves Me Not" programme.

Our students appreciated the chance to discuss and explore the core elements of healthy relationships, understand the complexities of consent, and recognise the early warning signs of relationship abuse and coercive control. KVC thanks our friends from the NZ Police for running this hugely valuable day with expertise, empathy and warmth. πŸ’šβ€

KVC's school assemblies are always jam packed and today was no exception! Our assembled rangatahi enjoyed listening to their various school leaders wax lyrical about all manner of items, from upcoming fundraisers through to new student murals for our spaces. Love that!! πŸ’šβ€πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

Today at KVC our Senior English classes welcomed the 'Poetry in Action' theatre troupe to our hall to explore and demonstrate the power and beauty of language, with a specific nod to WW1 poetry. This trio of performers did a wonderful job of bringing to life the words of Wilfred Owen and Sigfried Sassoon, helping our students to understand the context and meaning of their poetry. πŸ’šβ€
