FAMILY FUN DAY
Sunday, November 8th 2026

Save the date and bring the whole whānau! This is our annual chance to catch up as a community — whether you're a school family or a local from the wider area, all welcome!

We've got wood-fired pizza, a bouncy castle, games, and a cafe on site — everything you need for a relaxed day out. Bring a picnic blanket, settle in, and soak up the beautiful view.

We're fundraising for our gorgeous wee school and the beautiful children who attend here, and would love your support.

We're looking for craft, preserves, vegetable, ceramics, pot plant, and clothing stalls for the day. Hold your own stall for just $10! (Please note: we are NOT taking food stalls this time around.) If you'd like a spot, email us at [email protected]

Did you know Papua New Guinea has close to 900 different tok ples (indigenous languages), making it one of the most linguistically diverse countries in the world?

While many Papua New Guineans speak their own local language, Tok Pisin is one of the country's official languages that connects people across hundreds of language communities.

This Papua New Guinea Pidgin Language Week, try using a few Tok Pisin words with tamariki at home or in the classroom:

❄️🍂 Make some magical frozen autumn sun catchers!

Arrange colourful leaves, petals, fern pieces and a few safe decorative berries in shallow bowls or silicone moulds. Add a loop of jute string to each one, leaving the ends submerged, then carefully pour in enough water to cover everything.

Freeze overnight, gently remove them from the moulds and hang outside on a cold, sunny day. Watch the light shine through them as they slowly melt! ☀️

Tau 0-10 mokopuna will be able to start learning from Pūtaiao from 2027.

The remaining wāhanga ako will be released in September.
