This week in conjunction with road safety week ๐Ÿšธ๐Ÿšฆwe had Police Officers Briar, Mel and Sol ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ visit us at Kindergarten to reinforce the crucial road safety messages of stop โœ‹, look both ways ๐Ÿ‘€ and listen ๐Ÿ‘‚when around roads. Their presence made the learning so much more memorable and empowering that immediately translated into the children's play. Experiences like this really help build lasting safety habits to keep our tamariki safe. ๐Ÿš“ Kia haumaru - Be Safe!

Yesterday at kindergarten, our tamariki spent time learning about ANZAC Day ๐ŸŒบ

We shared simple stories about the ANZAC's, baked ANZAC biscuits, created artwork, and talked about being kind, brave, and looking after one another. It was a gentle way for them to begin to understand the importance of remembering.

Lest we forget โค๏ธ.

Our bee garden hasnโ€™t had hives in it for a while, so we decided it was the perfect spot to turn into a free-range area for our chickens โ€” Leila, Florence, Hei Hei and Daisy. ๐Ÿ”

The hens are loving having more space to scratch around and explore, and the tamariki have been enjoying little trips around the back to visit them. They especially love feeding the chickens by hand and watching what they get up to during the day.

Sometimes the hens even jump up and peck at the window to say hello, which always brings lots of smiles and excitement. Itโ€™s a lovely way for the tamariki to spend time with the hens and build confidence and respect for our feather friends. ๐ŸŒฟ

Yesterday at Kindergarten it was all about the colour red โค๏ธ. We participated in red experiences, ate red food, and of course exercised our red heart โค๏ธ in all the amazing physical challenges that our programme provides. Happy ๐Ÿ’• Day / Hari Rฤ Manawa ๐Ÿ˜.
