Place value is an area that some students tend to struggle with. Having a good grasp on the pattern and structure of numbers is the foundation of early maths. My classes have really enjoyed using this online activity where you add and subtract whole numbers to reach the target number in the least amount of turns.

Remember that even if reading is not your child's favourite thing, that reading to them is the most beneficial thing you can do to engage them with books. They are never too old to be read to. It's also a great way to spend quality time together each day.
